I've checked it, and it are indeed also other companies, besides Shell controlling Nigeria's oil, (still European/Western companies, though), but indeed in cooperation with the Nigerian state company, and under some laws. It nuances maybe what I said, but does not render it total nonsense (in my opinion): one has to study it further, but these foreign/Western companies influence on this oil is disproportionate compared to oil and gas in other countries: Arabs control and own their own oil, Russia its own gas, US its own oil, etcetera etcetera..
